BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS
Fire Prevention Week is an event held annually across North America during
the week of October 9th. It is a time of promoting Fire Safety and Fire
Prevention.
This year we are proposing to hold an open house at Fire Station #1 , Bow-
manville, with all members of the Department participating. I would re-
quest the use of half of the parking lot to the east of the Police and Fire
Building for vehicle and equipment displays and demonstrations. Inside,
Fire Safety slides and movies will be shown.
This week is also a time for public relations. The process of getting
people to know, like and support their Fire Department and to develop a sense
of community awareness.
