REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION
COMMITTEE - MEETING OF MARCH 19th, 1984.
REPORT NO: FD 6-84.
SUBJECT: Surplus Fire Department Items.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . THAT this report be received;
2. THAT the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the sale of
surplus Fire Department equipment to the
Manvers Township Fire Department for a total
amount of $350.00
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
This Department, in upgrading equipment over the past number of years has
disposed of very few, if any, of the old, outdated surplus items. A
number of these items do not serve this Department's need anymore and
would not be compatible with the new equipment presently in operation
but would be beneficial to other small Fire Departments.
I have been in contact with the Fire Chief of Manvers Township Fire Depart-
ment, Chief K. Dewar, who has viewed these specific items and, attached is
his offer to purchase.
All of the equipment is very outdated and has been in storage for at least
three years. I have estimated a fair market value for the items listed,

which has been accepted by Chief Dewar and he is aware that there is no
warranty with any of this equipment.
1 Plectron paging system $100.00
10 Plectron pagers ($15.00 ea. ) $150.00
2 Red dome revolving lights $50.00
2 Sirens for alerting $50.00
Total $350.00
I would recommend the acceptance of the offer to purchase, not only for
the reason that we are disposing of this equipment for a small monetary
gain, but that the Municipality would be assisting a neighbouring community.
