REPORT #: FD 25-85 FILE #: 10.12.6 SUBJECT: TOWN OF NEWCASTLE EMERGENCY PLAN RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended: l . ) THAT this report be received; 2. ) THAT the G.P.A. Committee recommend to Council : (a) that the Town of Newcastle Emergency Plan be approved by by-law; and (b) that the Fire Chief co-ordinate a meeting of the members of the Municipal Control Group, j at his earliest convenience, to discuss the Emergency Plan and to formulate an Appendix relating to emergency support groups and vital services groups. l BACKGROUND G.P.A. Resolution 494-85 stated: "THAT Report FD 10-85 be referred back to Staff to address and report on the concerns raised and that the Fire Chief contact each member of Council to discuss the concerns of each member. " COMMENTS Subsequent to the aforementioned Resolution, each member of Council was contacted to dis- cuss their concerns relating to the Emergency Plan. Continued. . . . . . . . LIM FD 25-85 - 2 The general comments and concerns raised were not with the body of the Emergency Plan but with the Appendix dealing with support groups and vital services groups. It is suggested that the method used to formulate this Appendix should fall under the responsibility of the MCG. The MCG would then add the Appendix to the Emergency Plan.
