GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING - OCTOBER 7, 1985.
REPORT NO. FD 21-85.
SUBJECT: Cancellation of the Agreement
between the Town of Newcastle
and the Orono Firefighters Assoc. ,
for insurance coverage of the
Association' s 1933 Bickell Fire
Truck (agreement attached) .

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
(1 ) THAT this report be received;
(2) THAT the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council that the
subject agreement be cancelled;
(3) THAT the Town's fleet insurer be notifed; and
(4) THAT an invoice for insurance coverage up
until this date be forwarded to the Orono
Firefighters' Association for payment.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS

The vehicle in question is an antique fire truck that is owned by the
I
Orono Firefighters' Association. Through a request by this Association,
the vehicle was permitted to be parked in Fire Station #3 and included in
the Town's vehicle fleet insurance policy. A yearly invoice was sent to j
the Association for insurance coverage costs.

A request (letter attached) has been received by this office notifying
that the vehicle has been removed from the Fire Station and that the
insurance should be cancelled.
As this is a privately owned vehicle, I would recommend that the Associa-
tion' s request for insurance cancellation be approved.
