REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION
COMMITTEE MEETING - FEBRUARY 18, 1985.
REPORT NO. FD 4-85.
SUBJECT: Tender T84-24
Triple Combination 1050 G.P.M. Fire Pumper

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended;
1 . ) THAT this report be received, and
2. ) THAT the General Purpose and Administration Com-
mittee recommend to Council the following:
(a) that Pierreville Fire Trucks Limited of St.
Francois-DuLac, Quebec, with a total bid of
$140,000 being the lowest responsible bidder,
meeting all terms, conditions and specifications
of Tender T84-24 be awarded the contract to supply
and deliver one only 1985 Triple Combination 1050
G.P.M. Fire Department Pumper Truck to the Town of
Newcastle, and
(b) that the funds be drawn from the Ontario
Hydro "B" Account, in the amount of $125,000.00
and the Fire Department Reserve Account #2900-
14-3 in the amount of $15,000.00.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were invited for the supply and delivery of one only 1985 Triple Com-
bination, 1050 G.P.M. Fire Department Pumper.

Bids were received and tabulated as follows:
Pierreville Fire Trucks $140,000.00
Superior Emergency Equipment $140,000.00
Almonte Fire Trucks $147,980.00
Dependable Tank and Truck $159,986.00
Hickey Fire Equipment (Thibault) $165,796.00
Superior Emergency Equipment's tender has been discounted due to not meeting
all of the Specification Requirements.
As per tender, this complete vehicle with equipment will be supplied and
delivered by the successful bidder within seven months of receipt of
official order.
It is mutually agreed by Treasury and the Fire Department that Pierreville
Fire Trucks Limited be awarded the contract.
