SUBJECT: HOME FIRE INSPECTION PROGRAM

THAT this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS
The voluntary Home Inspection Program is planned this year for the weeks of September
14th and September 25th. The scheduling has been changed to the fall of the year and
inspections will be carried out in the evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. week nights.
This is to accommodate residents who, possibly, were away for the summer months and also
for persons who are working during the day and would have missed the inspections crews.
The program is intended to assist homeowners in fire safety matters in and around their
homes and hopefully to reduce the possibility of fire to persons and property.
A notice will be placed in local newspapers informing residents of the intended dates and
times for the Home Inspection Program.
