SUB,ECT: The Fire Services Long Service Medal - Firefighter Frank Hoar Station #2.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Admini-
stration Committee recommend to Council :
1 . ) THAT Fire Department Report No. 20-86 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS

An application was recently submitted to the Ministry of the Solicitor General , Office
of the Fire Marshal , on behalf of Firefighter Frank Hoar, for a Long Service Medal. j
The application was approved and it is my pleasure to report that an investiture was
held on June 18, 1986 at Oshawa and Firefighter Hoar received his 35 year, long service
medal .
Frank first served as a volunteer Firefighter with the Village of Newcastle in 1949
and has remained with the Department through the formation of Regional Government and
remains an active member of the Town of Newcastle Fire Department, Station #2.
I commend Mr. Hoar for his many years of dedicated service to his community and congratu-
late him on receiving his 35 year Long Service Medal .
