SUB.]ECT: REPAIRS TO FIRE STATION #2 WINDOW RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. ) THAT Fire Department Report FD-19 be received; 2. ) THAT Supreme Windows and Door Company be contracted to make the necessary installation and repairs to the office window at Fire Station #2; and 3. ) THAT the associated cost, estimated at $350.00, be drawn from Self Insured Losses Account No. 2900 x 02 - 7. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS On Sunday, June 8, 1986, District Chief S. Brereton of Station #2, noticed a hole in the glass of the east office window at that station. The hole is through the outside pane of the thermopane glass and appears to possibly be from a pellet or B.B. gun. The Durham Region police were given this information on June 9th, 1986 and have written an Occurrence Report for further investigation. The damaged window is one of the new thermopane units that were purchased and instal- led by Supreme Windows in March of this year, to improve the energy efficiency of this building. Continued . . . . . FD - 19 - 2 - I have contacted the company representative, Mr. Fleischmann, who has given me an estimated replacement installation cost of $350.00. I would recommend that window repair costs, up to $350.00, be drawn from the Self Insured Losses Account No. 2900 x 02 - 7, to permit repairs to be undertaken. Respectfully submitted, J. Aldridge, Fire Chief. e JA/sr June 10, 1986 i I 1
