SLR ECT: REPAIRS TO 1974 FORD TANKER RECOMMENDATIONS: I It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1 . ) THAT this report be received; 2. ) THAT approval be given forthwith, to make the necessary mechanical repairs to the 1974 Ford Tanker (rebuilt engine) ; and 3. ) THAT funds for these unbudgeted repairs be drawn from the Contingencies Account - 7007-298 x 9, up to the amount of $4,500.00. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS While returning from a fire call on Sunday, May 4, 1986, the engine in Unit #4 sus- tained a complete mechanical breakdown. The Unit was then towed to the Town of New- castle Works garage in Hampton. In consultation today with the Works Department head mechanic, Mr. B. Werry, regarding repairs, he advised that the only course of action would be a rebuilt engine. Continued . . . . . FD - 13 - 2 - Because of the importance of this vehicle for rural fire protection, I have advised Mr. Werry to proceed with the repairs, which are estimated to be in the area of $4,500.00.
