BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS
I am pleased to report that three Town of Newcastle part-time Firefighters recently at-
tended and successfully completed the weekend course for Firefighters at the Ontario Fire
College.
Station #1 - Robert Payne & Bruce Munday
Station #4 - Wayne Chapple
I would also like to report that for the past seven weeks a recruit basic training program
has been conducted by myself and Firefighter Graydon Brown. Eight new members and two
existing part-time firefighters attended these Wednesday night training sessions. The
firefighters were introduced to firefighting techniques and the safe use and operation of
equipment. The following members successfully completed this course:
Jeff Boyles, St. #1 , Dave Curzon, St. #2, George Schroor, St. #2, Terry Allen, St. #3,
John Standeven, St. #3, Doug Delorme, St. #3, Rick DenHollander, St. #3, Gary Ovenden,
St. #3, Murray Dennis, St. #3, Terry Wood, St. #3.
