THAT Fire Department Report FD19-88 be received for information.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS

The Newcastle Fire Department's baseball team, which is made up of firefighters
from three of our stations, competed on August 14, 1988 in the Durham Regional
Mutual Aid Firefighters' Association Tournament, which was hosted by the
Sunderland Fire Department who did an excellent job.

I am pleased to report that our team, under the coaching skills of Lloyd Forsey
once again captured the overall championship, for the fourth consecutive year.
The team is to be congratulated for their outstanding achievement and their
sportsmanship.
