REPORT NO. : P-121-81
SUBJECT: Outstanding Item - Washington Gardens Cemetery
Proposal
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully submitted that:
1. This Report be received; and that
2. Planning and Development Committee Resolution PD-474-79,
Washington Gardens Cemetery Proposal and Report P-100-80
be now lifted from the table and considered; and that
3. The Washington Gardens Cemetery Proposal be removed from
the Planning and Development Committee Agenda as an out-
standing item; and that
4. The file be closed.

BACKGROUND:
In October of 1979, Planning and Development Committee received
a resentation b the
P y proponents of the Washington Gardens Cemetery in i
I
part of Lots 26 and 27, Concession 5, in the former Township of Darlington.

The matter was referred to Planning and Development staff, who
advised the applicant, in January of 1980 that an Official Plan
Amendment application would be required to continue with the further
processing of the cemetery proposal. The applicant was requested to
proceed with an Official Plan Amendment application through the Region
of Durham Planning and Development Department.
On June 9, 1980, Planning and Development Committee received
Planning Report P-100-80, recommended that the Washington Gardens Cemetery
Proposal be removed from the Planning and Development Committee Agenda
as an outstanding item. Recommendation was made at that time because
the proponents had not proceeded with the necessary Official Plan Amend-
ment nor had advised Town Planning staff of their intentions in respect
of the application. Planning and Development Committee considered staff
report P-100-80 and adopted Resolution PD-205-80, which tabled the item
until the meeting of July 7, 1980 for a response by the proponents.
As the proponents of the Washington Gardens Cemetery Proposal
have not advised Planning and Development Committee of their intentions
nor have they advised Planning staff of the status of their cemetery pro-
posal, staff feel it would be appropriate for the item to be removed from
the outstanding items list and/or the file to be closed.
Respeptfully submitted,
;
