SUBJECT: Courtice Special Purpose Commercial Areas

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the Planning and Develop-
ment Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Report No. P-105-81 be received for information.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
As outlined in Staff Report P-37-81 (February 16, 1981) , the i
Courtice Urban Area Plan as approved by the Minister of Housing, iden-
tifies Special Purpose Commercial Nodes within the Courtice Urban Area.
In accordance with the requirements related to special purpose commercial
areas, staff have prepared appropriate By-law amendments and have circu-
lated these amendments in a draft form, to all affected property owners

(circulation date March 2, 1981) .
Circulation comments have since been analyzed and several revisions
have been made to the draft by-laws.

Council authorized circulation on February 23, 1981 and at
the same time authorized staff to convene a meeting, if necessary,
to respond to any issues or concerns which may be identified during
circulation. Staff now feel that a meeting would be appropriate and have
scheduled it for:
Date: June 17, 1981
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Courtice High School Auditorium
Affected property owners have been advised of the meeting by copy of
the letter attached hereto.
