SUUCT: TENDER NW92-1, ELECTRICAL SERVICES
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-13-92 be received;
2 . THAT George Moore Electric, Bowmanville, Ontario, with
bid prices of $28. 00 per hour for Journeyman
Electrician and $11. 00 per hour for Journeyman
Electrician's Helper be awarded the contract to provide
Electrical Services, as required by the Town of
Newcastle for 1992; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be drawn from the various 1992
Current Budget Accounts .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited to provide
Electrical Services as required by the Town of Newcastle for
1992 .
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule
"A" attached.
The bid prices represents an approximate eight percent ( 8%)
decrease in the hourly rates over the 1991 contract prices . The
required funds will be drawn from the various 1992 Current Budget
Accounts .
For the information of Council, the Town of Newcastle spent
approximately $60, 000 . 00 for Electrical Services during 1991.

After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing,
Public Works and Community Services, it is respectfully
recommended that George Moore Electric, Bowmanville, Ontario, be
awarded the contract to provide Electrical Services to the Town
of Newcastle, as required.
The subject firm has worked satisfactorily for the Town of
Newcastle in the past year.
