ACT' QUOTATION Q91-24, ENTRANCE VESTIBULE AND TICKET BOOTH
AT BOWMANVILLE RECREATION COMPLEX
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
i
1. THAT Report TR-20-92 be received;
2 . THAT Veenstra Construction Ltd. , Bowmanville, Ontario,
with a bid in the amount of $17,719 . 82 being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Quotation Q91-24, be awarded the
contract for the Entrance Vestibule and Ticket Booth at
the Bowmanville Recreation Complex; and
3 . THAT the funds be drawn from Account #1110-00166-X
Parkland Reserve fund as approved in the 1991 Capital
Budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Quotations were issued and invited from a compiled list of
bidders, for the construction of an entrance vestibule and ticket
booth at the Bowmanville Recreation Complex, as required by the
Department of Community Services .
As the total estimated cost for this project was under $15,000 . 00
a formal quotation request was issued rather than a tender.

Subsequently, bids were received and tabulated as follows:

The required funds will be drawn from Account #1110-00166-X and
were a carry-over from the approved 1991 Capital Budget. The
total amount of $17, 719 . 82 is within the budget allocation of
$20,000. 00 of which approximately $700.00 has been expended.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director
of Community Services .
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder,
Veenstra Construction Ltd. , Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended
for the contract for the Entrance Vestibule and Ticket Booth at
the Bowmanville Recreation Complex.
The subject firm have previously performed satisfactory for the
Town of Newcastle.
