SUD,JECT: TENDER NW92-10, ASPHALT AND SURFACE TREATMENT PULVERIZING
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-30-92 be received;
2 . THAT Municipal Road Pulverizing Inc . , Port Colbourne,
Ontario, with a total bid of $15,381 . 61, being the
lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender NW92-10, be awarded the
contract for Asphalt and Surface Treatment .Pulverizing;
and
3 . THAT the funds be drawn from the approved 1992
Department of Public Works Road Maintenance budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised in local papers, as well as the
Daily Commercial News .
Subsequently, bids were received and tabulated as follows:

TENDER NW92-10, ASPHALT AND SURFACE TREATMENT PULVERIZING
The total funds required for Tender NW92-10, Asphalt and Surface
Treatment Pulverizing are included in the Department of Public
Works Road Maintenance budget. The total funds allocated for the
Pulverizing contract plus the Prime and Surface contract is
$318,400 . 00. Of this amount, $26,000. 00 was estimated for the
Pulverizing portion.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director
of Public Works .
The tendered unit prices represent an average four percent (4%)
decrease over the 1991 prices .
See Schedule "A" attached for copy of specifications and list of
roads requiring Asphalt and Surface Treatment Pulverizing.
The subject firm have previously performed satisfactorily for the
Town of Newcastle.
After review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and
Public Works, it was mutually agreed that Municipal Road
Pulverizing Inc. , Port Colbourne, Ontario, be recommended for the
contract for Asphalt and Surface Treatment Pulverizing.
