RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-37-92 be received;
2 . THAT Gall Construction Limited, Kitchener, Ontario,
with a total bid in the amount of $30,495 . 00 (Option
"A" ) , being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all
terms, conditions and specifications of Tender
NW92-16, be awarded the contract for the supply and
installation of a Pool Liner at the Newcastle Lions
Pool; and
3 . THAT the funds be drawn from the 1992 approved
Community Services Capital Budget, Account
#7607-00004-0501; FORTHWITH.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were issued and publicly advertised in all four (4) area
newspapers, for the supply and installation of a Pool Liner 'at
the Newcastle Lions Pool, as required by the Department of
Community Services .

Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows :

The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1992 Community
Services Budget, Account #7607-00004-0501 and are well within the
$40,000 . 00 allocated for this project.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with
the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Community
Services .
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Gall
Construction Limited, Kitchener, Ontario, be recommended for the
contract, Option "A" , for the supply and installation of a Pool Liner
at the Newcastle Lions Pool.
Due to the approaching summer season, as well as the four (4) week
lead time for the completion of the contract, a forthwith approval is
requested.
Although the subject firm have not previously performed for the Town
of Newcastle, they have provided satisfactory service for both the
City of Waterloo and the City of Windsor.
