SUB,JECT: TENDER NW92-24, ONE ( 1) ONLY FRONT MOUNT RIDING MOWER
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-45-92 be received;
2 . THAT Evergreen Farm and Garden Ltd. , Orono, Ontario,
with a total bid of $16,788. 85, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender NW92-24, be awarded the
contract to supply and deliver one ( 1) only Front Mount
Riding Mower with a 72 " Cutting Unit with Side
Discharge, to the Town of Newcastle as required by the
Department of Community Services; and
3 . THAT the funds required be drawn from the approved 1992
Community Services Capital budget, account
#7603-00001-0505.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of one ( 1) only Front Mount Riding Mower with a minimum
7211 cutting unit with side discharge, as required by the
Department of Community Services .

The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1992 Community
Services Capital budget, account #7603-00001-0505 and are within
the $17,500. 00 allocated for this equipment.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director
of Community Services .

After further review and analysis of .the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the bid from
Evergreen Farm and Garden Ltd. , Orono, Ontario, be recommended
for the tender award. The subject firm have previously provided
satisfactory service for the Town of Newcastle.
