By-Law # MEETING: GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE DATE: June 1, 1992 TR-47-92 REPORT #: FILE #: TENDER NW92-23, SUPPLY, DELIVERY-AND APPLICATION OF LIQUID SUB,ECT: CALCIUM CHLORIDE i i RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report TR-47-92 be received; 2 . THAT the contract NW92-22 for the Supply, Delivery and Application of Liquid Calcium Chloride with Miller Paving Limited, Markham, Ontario, be increased by approximately 50,000 litres ($7, 152 .95) ; and 3. THAT the additional required funds be drawn from the approved 1992 budget allocation for Public Works Road Maintenance. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT As approved by Council on May 11, 1992, resolution #C-322-92, Tender NW92-22 was awarded to Miller Paving Limited, Markham, Ontario, for the Supply, Delivery and Application of approximately 200,000 litres of liquid calcium chloride for a total bid price of $28,611. 80. Subsequent to this award, it was realized that the total amount of liquid calcium chloride required had been underestimated by staff by approximately 50,000 litres or $7, 152 . 95 . The original award of NW92-22 was based on unit prices and therefore, the low bid still remains the same. The subject firm has agreed to the addition to the contract. i Page - 2 - TR-47-92 TENDER NW92-23, SUPPLY, DELIVERY AND APPLICATION OF LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE The additional funds required will be drawn from the approved 1992 budget allocation for Public Works Road Maintenance from which there are adequate funds available. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc : , should be referred to the Director of Public Works.
