SUBJECT: TENDER NW92-25, CORRUGATED STEEL CULVERT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-57-92 be received;
2 . THAT Holt Culvert and Metal Products Ltd. ,
Peterborough, Ontario, with a total bid in the amount
of $51,688 .38, being the lowest responsible bidder
meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of
Tender NW92-25, be awarded the contract for the supply
and delivery of Corrugated Steel Culvert as required by
the Department of Public Works; and
3 . THAT the funds be drawn from the approved 1992 Culvert
Maintenance Construction budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMIENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of Rivetted Corrugated Steel Pipe Culvert as required by
the Department of Public Works .
Subsequently, bids were received and tabulated as per Schedule
"A" attached.
The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1992 Culvert
Maintenance Construction budget, from which there are adequate
funds available.

The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director
of Public Works .
The tendered prices for culverts represents approximate a nine
percent (9%) decrease over the 1991 prices.
After further review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works
and Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that Holt Culvert and
Metal Products Ltd. , Peterborough, Ontario, be recommended for
the contract for the supply and deliver culverts to the Town of
Newcastle for 1992 .
The subject firm have previously performed satisfactorily for the
Town of Newcastle.
