SECT: CO-OPERATIVE TENDER, NO. 2 DOMESTIC FUEL OIL
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-60-92 be received;
2 . THAT Imperial Oil Limited, Willowdale, Ontario, with a
net unit price in the amount of $ .2416 per litre
(including G.S.T. ) , meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of the Durham Region Roman Catholic
Separate School Board Co-Operative Tender, be awarded
the contract to supply and deliver No. 2 Domestic Fuel
Oil to the Town of Newcastle for the 1992/93 winter
season; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be drawn from the 1992/93
budget allocation for heating of facilities.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The Town of Newcastle joined the Durham Region Roman Catholic
Separate School Board on a Co-Operative basis to tender for the
supply and delivery of No. 2 Domestic Fuel Oil. Affiliated Hall
Boards, Museums and Park Boards were given the option of being
included in this tender.
Subsequently, the bids were received and tabulated as per the
attached Bid Summary, marked Schedule "A" .
The required funds will be drawn from the 1992/93 budget.
allocation for heating of facilities from which there are
adequate funds available. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding
requirements and concurs with the recommendation.

The price tendered represents a price increase of approximately
ten percent (10%) over the 1991/92 prices.
In comparison to the tendered unit price of $ .2416, the
approximate average household price is currently $ .370 .
For the information of Council, the 1991/92 expenditure for this
contract was approximately $46,000. 00. Based on the prior years
consumption, the 1992/93 expenditure is estimated to be
$50,224 . 00
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing, it
is recommended that Imperial Oil Limited, Willowdale, Ontario, be
recommended for the contract award to supply and deliver No. 2
Domestic Fuel Oil as required by the Town of Newcastle.
The subject firm has performed satisfactorily for the Town of
Newcastle in recent years .
