Res. # --- = By-Law # MEETING: GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE DATE: July 20, 1992 REPORT #: TR-71-92 FILE #: &RECT: TENDER NW92-27, ONE (1) ONLY TOPDRESSER RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report TR-71-92 be received; 2 . THAT G.C. Duke Equipment Ltd. , Burlington, Ontario, with a total bid of $17,030.35, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender NW92-27, be awarded the contract to supply and deliver one (1) only Topdresser, to the Town of Newcastle as required by the Department of Community Services; and 3. THAT the funds required be drawn from the approved 1992 Community Services Capital budget, account #7603-00001-0505 . BACKGROUND AND COMMENT• Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of one ( 1) Topdresser, as required by the Department of Community Services. Due to the limited number of dealers in this area for this type of equipment, only one ( 1) bid was received as follows: Bidder Total Bid Amount G.C. Duke Equipment Ltd. $ 17,030. 35 Burlington, Ontario i Page - 2 - TR-71-92 TENDER NW92-27, ONE ( 1) ONLY TOPDRESSER The required funds will be drawn from the approved 1992 Community Services Capital budget, account #7603-00001-0505 and are within i the $20,000. 00 allocated for this equipment. Note, this item appears in the Capital Budget on page 190, item #4, however, due to a clerical error, the dollars allocated for item #3, the disc/spreader/seeder and item #4, the topdresser, have been reversed. The funds for item #3 should read $16,000 . 00 and for item #4 should read $20,000.00. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Community Services. After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the bid from G.C. Duke Equipment Ltd. , Burlington, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award. The subject firm have previously provided satisfactory service for the Town of Newcastle.
