THAT Report TR-14-93 be received; 2 . THAT Provincial Traffic Signs, Port Perry, Ontario, with a total bid in the amount of $38,080.49 being the most responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender NW92-41, be awarded the contract to supply and deliver the 1993 Traffic and Street Sign requirements to the Town of Newcastle; and 3. THAT the funds expended be drawn from the 1993 budget allocation for Traffic and Street Signs. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the supply and delivery of various Traffic and Street Signs requirements as required by the Town of Newcastle. Subsequently, bids were received and tabulated as follows: Bidder Total Bid Amount Provincial Traffic Signs $ 38,080 .49 Port Perry, Ontario Owl-Lite Rentals and Sales $ 39,767 .49 Etobicoke, Ontario Scugog Signs $ 43,732 . 15 Blackstock, Ontario Ontario Road Signs � !`� $ 52, 101.49 Mississauga, Ontario Page - 2 - TR=14-93 TENDER NW92-41, 1993 TRAFFIC SIGN REQUIREMENTS The contract resulting from this tender will cover the supply and delivery to the Town of Newcastle on an "as required" basis, the various signs listed on Schedule "A" attached, during the period ending December 31, 1993 . After further review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and Public Works, it was mutually agreed that Provincial Traffic Signs, Port Perry, Ontario, be recommended for the contract award. The unit price& from Provincial Traffic Signs represents an average approximate decrease of two percent (2%) over the unit prices for the 1992 contract. The required funds will be drawn from the 1993 budget allocation for Traffic and Street Signs. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public Works . The subject firm has worked satisfactorily for the Town of Newcastle in the past year.
