TR-46-93 By-Law# Report#: Fife#: CO-OPERATIVE TENDER T204-93, COLD MIX/HIGH PERFORMANCE/HOT Subject: MIX Recommendations: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report TR-46-93 be received; 2 . THAT the contract T204-93, Section I for the Supply of Emulsified Asphalt Patching Material (cold mix) , with Harnden and King Construction, Brooklin, Ontario, be increased by approximately 1,000 tonnes ($45,137 .50) ; 3. THAT the contract T204-93, Section II for the Supply of High Performance Asphalt Repair Material, with Innovative Building Products, Ajax, Ontario, be increased by approximately 100 tonnes ($6,664 .23) ; and 4 . THAT the additional funds in the amount of $51,801. 75 (includes applicable taxes) be reallocated from accounts: Ditch Maintenance #7207-00411-X $16,222 .21 Shoulder Maintenance #7205-00451-X $10,802 .79 Summer Maintenance Roads #7209-00441-X $ 5,401.40 Guide Rail and Posts #7211-00401-X $16,222 .20 G.S.T. #7200-00000-1001 $ 3, 153 . 15 BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: As approved by Council on May 31, 1993, resolution GPA-331-93, Co-Operative Tender T204-93 Section I was awarded to Harnden and King Construction, Brooklin, Ontario, for the supply Of approximately 700 tonnes of Emulsified Asphalt Material (cold mix) , for a total bid price of $27,475 . 00 (plus applicable taxes) and Section II was awarded to Innovative Building Products, Ajax, Ontario, for the supply of approximately 300 tonnes of High Performance Asphalt Repair Material, for a total bid price of $17,385 .00 (plus applicable taxes) . 3 D 'A'_ $E1'A eE I H,S IS PR,RERC,R RECYCLED PAPER Page - 2 - TR-46-93 CO-OPERATIVE TENDER T204-93, COLD MIX/HIGH PERFORMANCE/HOT MIX Due to the severe road deterioration during spring break-up, it is estimated that an additional 1,000 tonnes of Emulsified Asphalt Patching Material (cold mix) and 100 tonnes of High Performance Asphalt Repair Material will be required by the Public Works Department for the 1993 season. The original award of T204-93 was based on unit prices and therefore, the low bid still remains the same. The subject firms have agreed to the addition to the contract. The additional funds required will be reallocated from various accounts through the 1993 current budget as follows: Ditch Maintenance #7207-00411-X $16,222 .21 Shoulder Maintenance #7205-00451-X $10,802 .79 Summer Maintenance Roads #7209-00441-X $ 5,401.40 Guide Rail and Posts #7211-00401-X $16,222 .20 G.S.T. #7200-00000-1001 $ 3,153 . 15 $51,807 .75 The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public Works .
