Subject: TENDER NW93-25, SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF LUBREEL SYSTEM
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-69-93 be received;
2 . THAT Crown Maintenance Inc. , Whitby, Ontario, with a
total bid of $19, 113. 02 (including all taxes) , being the
lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender NW93-25, be awarded the
contract for the supply and installation of a Lubreel
System to the Municipality of Clarington, as required by
the Department of Public Works; and
3. THAT the required funds be drawn from the approved 1993
Public Works Department Capital Budget, account #2900-
00010-0000 .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
installation of a Lubreel System at the Hampton Depot, as required
by the Department of Public Works .
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Scheduled
"A" attached.
The total bid price of $19, 113 .02 is within the $20,000.00 provided
for in the 1993 Public Works Capital Budget, account #2900-00010-
0000, as reflected on page 67 of the Capital Budget.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public
Works .

After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Public
Works, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Crown
Maintenance Inc . , Whitby, Ontario, be recommended for the tender
award.
Although the subject firm have not previously performed for the
Municipality of Clarington, they have provided satisfactory service
for both Oshawa Transit and Firstran Bus Lines .
