Subject: Q94-10, DRIVEWAY PAVING
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT report TR-79-94 be received;
2 . THAT Tri-Son Contracting Inc. , Prince Albert, Ontario, with a
total bid in the amount of $27,418. 36 (including taxes) , being
the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Quotation Q94-10, be awarded the
contract for Driveway Paving, as required by the Municipality
of Clarington, Department of Public Works; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be provided from the approved 1994
Public Works Current Budget FORTHWITH.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The following bid was submitted:

Tri-Son Contracting Inc. $27,418. 36
Prince Albert, Ontario
Funding will be drawn from Account #7208-00441-0261, Surface
Treatment, and Account #7206-00401-0169, Bridge and Culvert
Maintenance, as reflected in the 1994 Public Works Current Budget.
After review and analysis of the bid by Purchasing and Public
Works, it was mutually agreed that Tri-Son Contracting Inc. , be
recommended for the contract award.

QUOTATION Q94-10, DRIVEWAY PAVING
As the original estimated number of driveways to be paved were
valued under the tender limit of $20,000 . 00, a formal quotation was
issued rather than a tender.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public
Works .
The subject firm has previously provided satisfactory service for
the Municipality of Clarington.

As some of the driveways require paving as soon as possible, a
FORTHWITH approval is requested.
