Subject: TENDER NW93-43, ONE (1) ONLY 11,000 G.V.W. CREW CAB & CHASSIS
C/W DUMP BODY
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-4-94 be received;
2 . THAT J.E. Quantrill Chev Olds, Port Hope, Ontario, with
a total bid of $31,257 . 00 (including all taxes) , being
the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms,
conditions and specifications of Tender NW93-43, be
awarded the contract to supply and deliver one ( 1) only
11,000 G.V.W. Crew Cab & Chassis c/w Dump Body to the
Municipality of Clarington, as required by the Department
of Community Services;
3. THAT funds in the amount of $30,000. 00 be drawn from the
approved 1993 Community Services Department Capital
Budget, account #7603-00003-0504; and
4 . THAT the remaining funds required in the amount of
$1,257 .00 be drawn from Community Services Capital
Budget, account #7603-00001-0504 .
BACKGROUND AND CONMNT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of one (1) only 11,000 G.V.W. Crew Cab & Chassis c/w Dump
Body, as required by the Department of Community Services.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule
"A" attached.

The total bid price of $31,257 .00 is over the $30,000 .00 provided
for in the 1993 Public Works Capital Budget, account
#7603-00003-0504, as reflected on page 202 (noted in error as a
Ton Truck) in the Capital Budget.
However, as the total bid price for the i ton truck recently
purchased, Tender NW93-38 (Page 202 of the Capital Budget) was
$18,324 . 10 and $20,000.00 was allocated, it is proposed that the
additional funds required in the amount of $1,257 .00 be drawn from
account #7603-00001-0504 .
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director of
Community Services.
After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Community
Services, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from J.E.

Quantrill, Port Hope, Ontario be recommended for the tender award.
