Subject: TENDER CL94-24, SUPPLY AND INSTALL ONE (1) ONLY BATTERS CAGE
ORONO PARK
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report TR-35-94 be received;
2 . THAT Kaan Construction, Ajax, Ontario, with a total bid price
of $11,488 .50, be awarded the contract to supply and install
one (1) only Batters Cage at Orono Park, as requested by the
Municipality of Clarington; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be drawn from the Community Services
1994 Capital Budget Account #7603-00001-0516 .
BACKGROUND AND COMMNT•
A tender was publicly advertised and issued with the following bids
being submitted:

Ajax, Ontario
McFaul Fencing Ltd. $14, 067 .29
Courtice, Ontario
The required funding will be drawn from the Community Services
approved 1994 Capital Budget Account #7603-00001-0516 and are
within the $16,000 .00 allocation as reflected on page 202 of the
Draft Capital Budget.

Although the subject firm have not previously provided service for
the Municipality of Clarington, they have provided satisfactory
service to both the Durham Regional Housing Authority and the
Ontario Ministry of Housing.
After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it is recommended that Kaan Construction, Ajax,
Ontario, be recommended for the contract award to supply and
install One ( 1) Only Batters Cage, as required by the Municipality
of Clarington.
