Subject: TENDER CL95-21, ASPHALT AND SURFACE TREATMENT PULVERIZING
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report TR-36-95 be received;

2 . THAT Roto Mill Services Ltd. , Brampton, Ontario, with a total
bid in the amount of $26, 185 . 38, being the lowest responsible
bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of
Tender CL95-21, be awarded the contract for Asphalt and
Surface Treatment Pulverizing, as required by the Department
of Public Works; and
3 . THAT the funds be drawn from the approved 1995 Department of
Public Works Road Maintenance budget FORTHWITH.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised in local papers, as well as the
Daily Commercial News .
Subsequently, bids were received and tabulated as follows :

TENDER CL95-21
The total funds required for Tender CL95-21, Asphalt and Surface
Treatment Pulverizing are included in the Department of Public
Works Road Maintenance budget . The total funds allocated for the
pulverizing contract plus the Prime and Surface contract is
$320, 000 . 00 . Of this amount, $205, 696 . 38 has been committed for
the surface treatment portion (Tender CL95-22) .
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs

with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public
Works .
The tendered unit prices represent an average nine percent (9%)
decrease over the 1994 contract prices submitted by Roto Mill
Services Ltd.
See Schedule "A" attached for a copy of the 1995 schedule listing
the roads requiring Asphalt and Surface Treatment Pulverizing.
Roto Mill Services has previously provided satisfactory service to
the Municipality of Clarington.
