Subject: CO-OPERATIVE TENDER QWC17-95, SUPPLY AND DELIVERY CORRUGATED
PIPE CULVERT
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report TR-41-95 be received;
2 . THAT Holt Culvert and Metal Products, Peterborough, Ontario,
with a total bid in the amount of $31, 935 . 69 (plus applicable
taxes) , for the Municipality of Clarington requirements, being
the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of the Co-operative Tender QWC17-95, be
awarded the contract to supply and deliver Corrugated Pipe
Culvert on an "as required" basis, to the Municipality of
Clarington; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be provided from the approved 1995
Culvert Maintenance Construction budget .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The Municipality of Clarington participated in the Durham
Purchasing Co-operative Group tender for the Supply and Delivery of
Corrugated Pipe Culvert .
The bids were tabulated as per Schedule "All attached.
After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and Public
Works, it was mutually agreed that the bid from Holt Culvert and
Metal Products, Peterborough, Ontario, be recommended for the
contract award as required by the Department of Public Works .

The required funds in the amount of $31, 935 . 69 for the Municipality
of Clarington requirements, will be drawn from the approved 1995
Culvert Maintenance Construction budget, from which there are
adequate funds available .
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public
Works .
The unit prices bid reflect approximately a 1 . 5o increase over the
1994 contract prices submitted by E.S. Hubbell & Sons Ltd.
The subject firm has previously provided satisfactory service to
the Municipality of Clarington.
