Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report TR-56-96 be received;
2 . THAT staff be authorized to proceed with the pre-qualification
of bidders; and
3 . THAT upon completion of the pre-qualification process, Tender
CL96-17 be issued.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Approved in the 1996 Public Works Capital Budget is the
construction of Avondale Park at a budget allocation of
$400, 000 . 00 .
As indicated in the attached letter from the Consultant on this
project, Henry Kortekaas and Associates Inc. , prequalification of
the bidders is recommended.
The Prequalification of the bidders will be publicly advertised
with all interested firms being given the opportunity to apply.
Based on pre-established criteria, the submissions will be reviewed
by Public Works, Purchasing and the Consultants . Those bidders
that prequalify will be invited to submit a tender.
As identified in Report ##TR-51-95, this tender will be awarded
under the approved process for the awarding of tenders during the
Summer Council Recess .
