Electronics Ltd. , Richmond Hill, Ontario, with a total bid in the amount of $13 , 560 . 80 (including taxes) , be awarded the contract for the supply of a Parking Pay & Display Machine as required by the Municipality, By-Law Department; and 2 . THAT the funds expended be provided from the Parking Lot Reserve Fund Account ##1110-00162-0000 FORTHWITH. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: The following bids were requested and received from: $TDDER TOTAL BTp AMQUNT J. J. MacKay Canada Ltd. $9, 750 . 00 Scarborough, Ontario ticket capacity 4, 000 - no capacity for increasing M. S . C. Electronics Ltd. $9, 995 . 00 Richmond Hill, Ontario ticket capacity 5, 000 $1, 797 . 00 for second printer increasing capacity of tickets to 10, 000 * All taxes extra RPAPELRC ECYICLE O 1H44I PRIMEDQ4 RECYClEO PAPER REPORT NO. TR-1-97 PAGE 2 The required funding will be drawn from Account #1110-00162-0000, Parking Lot Reserve Fund. The base price received from J. J. MacKay is lower by $225 . 00 for the pay display machine . However, the ticket capacity is lower by 1, 000 and there is not capability for increasing the capacity. At present there is one MSC ACCENT machine in the Division Street lot and one CALE MP5005 from MacKay in the Silver Street Lot . Purchasing the CALE MP102 from the low bidder MacKay would mean the Municipality would have three different machines which would consequently increase the operating costs as three different sets of tickets and spare parts would be required. The response for service from MSC is very prompt, generally the next working day. MacKay' s response for service sometimes takes two to three days and one to three months for service parts . After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and By- law, and in view of the above issues, it was mutally agreed that M. S . C. Electronics, Richmond Hill, Ontario, be recommended for the contract to supply and install one (1) only M. S.C. Accent Parking Pay and Display Machine with a second printer for a total price of $9, 995 . 00 + $1, 797. 00 printer which equals $13, 560 . 80 (including taxes) as required by the Municipality of Clarington By-law Department . The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Town Clerk. The subject firm has previously provided satisfactory equipment and service for the Municipality of Clarington. 802 REPORT NO. : TR-1-97 PAGE 3 Respectfully submitted, Reviewed by, mm® Z ' , h Ma e Marano, H.BSc . ,AMCT. , W.H.
