Subject: TENDER CL 9 7-17, 1998 CREW CAB PICK UP

Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:

1 . THAT Report TR-91-97 be received;

2 . THAT Ontario Motor Sales, Oshawa, Ontario, with a total bid in
the amount of $31, 308 . 75 (including taxes) , being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender CL97-17, be awarded the contract to
supply one (1) only 1998 Crew Cab Pick Up, as required by the
Municipality of Clarington Department of Public Works; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be provided from Self Insured Losses
Account ##2900-00002-0000 .

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised for the supply of one (1) only
1998 Crew Cab Pick Up as required by the Public Works Department .
Subsequently, bids were received as follows :

This vehicle is required to replace one that was stolen earlier
this year.

The required funds will be drawn from Self Insured Loss Account
#2900-00002-0000 . The cost of the vehicle, less the deduction of
$5, 000 . 00, will be reimbursed to this fund from insurance proceeds .
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs,
specifications, etc . , should be referred to the Director of Public
Works .
The subject firm have previously provided satisfactory service for
the Municipality of Clarington.
