CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
HAMPTON, ONTARIO LOB 1 JO TEL. (416)263-2231
REPORT TO THE COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 7, 1982
REPORT NO. : PD-95-82
i
i
SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAW 2111 ,as
amended, of the Former Township of Darlington
as proposed in Report PD-92-82
RECOMMENDATION:
I
It is respectfully recommended:
I
1 . That this Report be received; and
I
2. That the By-law attached to Report PD-92-82, be
* revised (as attached) to show a 1 .25 metre side
and rear yard requirement for accessory uses,
and approved, as amended.
3. That upon approval of the attached By-law 82-
the Clerk be directed to provide notice through
publication.
BACKGROUND:
Following discussions at the May 31st General Purpose and
Administration Committee meeting relative to proposed
amendments to the Darlington Zoning By-law, Planning staff
i
have reviewed the yard requirements for accessory buildings
set out in Section 3 of the draft amendment. Staff now feel
that it would be appropriate to revise Section 3(3) of the
I
proposed amendment to reduce the yard requirement from 2.5
to 1 .25 metres for all accessory buildings, without a
limiting size being specified.
I
Planning staff have discussed this proposed revision with
Newcastle's Fire Chief and understand that this change would /
not detrimentally affect fire protection activities.
J
Report No: PD-95-82 . . ./2
Staff are therefore recommending that the change noted above
be incorporated into the draft By-law and that the By-law be
approved by Council .
