(416)263-2231 REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF MAY 17th, 1982 REPORT NO. : PD-83-82 SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT PLAN APPROVAL 18T-19720 PART OF LOTS 29 and 30, CONCESSION 1 , NEWCASTLE VILLAGE - EAST WOODBRIDGE DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED I RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1 . That Report PD-83-82 be received; and 2. That Council adopt the following resolution: "The Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to extend the draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-19720 for a further nine-month period, to February 28, 1983." 3. That the request in 2. above be forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and that East Woodbridge Developments Limited be so advised. i Report No: PD-83-82 . . ./2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: * A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and Development Department on April 30, 1982. The letter from Mr. I. Manias, on behalf of East Woodbridge Developments Limited, requests that the draft plan of the above-mentioned plan be extended. In reviewing this request staff note that the draft plan approval has been extended on several occasions due to the effects of economic conditions on the housing market. As indicated in the attached letter, this situation has not I improved since the previous extension in September 1981 . In addition, we note that East Woodbridge Developments are apparently investigating feasible alternatives for the servicing of this subdivision, and as a result, would require this additional extension in time to determine a suitable solution. Therefore, staff would have no objection to the approval of a nine-month extension in draft plan approval , as this amount of time would be in accordance with the amount of i extension given in 1981 . Upon cessation of this draft plan approval , the plan should subsequently be reviewed again in 1983. Respectful l-y";Sibbmi tted, T. T. Edwards, M.C.I .P.
