BE IT NOW RESOLVED that the Town of Newcastle
hereby requests the Ontario Municipal Board to
approve By-law 81-172, and hereby authorizes j
Planning staff and the Town Solicitor to attend
any hearing that may be convened in respect of j
the By-law on behalf of the Town. "
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Town Council approved By-law 81 -172 on October 19, 1981 rezoning
a 1317.0 square metre (14,175 square feet) parcel of land located
in Lot 11 , Broken Front Concession, Bowmanville to recognize the
existing use of the property as a single family residence and an
accessory building. As a result of the circulation of the By-law,
one objection was received (copy attached) . The objector is
apparently concerned that the subject By-law is in fact rezoning
his lands, and as a result would affect his existing bee operation.
Staff note that the By-law does not in any way rezone Mr. Dewey's
property which is located approximately 350 feet north of the lands
affected by the subject By-law amendment. In this regard, staff
feel that the rezoning, while allowing the continuation of the
existing uses of these lands, does not represent a serious problem
for this area. Therefore, staff recommend that the By-law be
forwarded to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval with the
resolution contained within the recommendation.
Respectfully sub)nittpd;
