CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT D.N. SMITH, M.C.I.P.,Director
HAMPTON, ONTARIO LOB 1 JO TEL. (416)263-2231
REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING
OF JANUARY 25, 1982.
REPORT NO. : PD-5-82
SUBJECT: By-law Number 72-81: The Corporation of the Township
of Scugog
i
Recommendation:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. By-law Number 72-81 of the Township of Scugog be
received and filed.
Background:
On December 3, 1981, staff received a copy of By-law 72-81,
a general amendment to the comprehensive Restricted Area By-law
75-80 of the Corporation of the Township of Scugog. Staff note
that By-law 75-80 had previously been circulated to the Town of
Newcastle, and, in staff's review of the By-law it was noted that
most of the lands abutting the Town had been zoned "RU - Rural".
Such zone classification and related zone provisions within the
Scugog By-law were similar to the "Agricultural" provisions in
I
the Town's By-law.
A copy of the subject by-law is available for review at the
Planning Department offices in Hampton.

Report No. : PD-5-82 „ „2
In reviewing the subject By-law amendment 72-81, we note
that changes proposed to the comprehensive By-law 75-80 do not affect
lands which abut the Town of Newcastle. In this regard, the subject By-
law amendment does not appear to affect the interests of the Town,
and no further action on By-law 72-81 required. We note that the
last date for filing objections was December 30, 1981.
Respectfully; subm tted,
T. T. Edwards, M.C.I.P. ,
EP:cc Deputy Director of Planning.
