McIlroy, Clerk, Town of Newcastle, J 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville, Ontario Dear Mr. McIlroy: Re: Section 3 . 2. 3 of the Durham Regional Official Plan as a Condition -of -Subdivision Approval _. Please be advised that on November 7 , 1978, the Planning Committee passed the following resolution: 1. THAT the following decision of the Committee rriade on March 28, 1977, namely, "That the (area municipality) advise the Region that Section 3. 2. 3 of the Durham R6gional Official Plan, which specifies that: ' Resi- dential growth in -the Region shall be directly related to the Region' s growth in employment opportunities ' has been met to their satisfaction" not be imposed as a condition of approval for plans of subdivision until such time as Section 3 has been approved by the Minister of Housing . 2 . THAT this requirement be removed as a recommended condition of approval of the Region on all draft plans of subdivision that have been recommended by the Region but have riot yet received final approval by -the Minister, and that the Ministry of Housing, the area municipality, the owner and the Works Department be advised accordingly. 3. THAT in any review of Section 3 of the Durham Regional Official Plan with the Ministry of I.Jousing, T�egional staff give particular attention to the contents of subsection 3. 2. 3. 2 REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF DURHAM DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT 2 Accordingly, we wish to advise- that the Region no longer requires the local municipality to indicate that Section 3. 2. 3 of the Durham Regional Official Plan has been met to its satisfaction. For your records, the attached is a list of plans of subdivision for which the subject condition was specified by the Region. Those file numbers with an asterisk indicate that the subject condition has been dealt- with by your municipality.
