Planning and Development Committee DATED: August 31 , 1978
SUBJECT: District Plans for Burketon Station and Enniskillen
Following the public hearings I thought that we would be in a position
to make a recommendation to the members of the Planning Committee
on these two District Plans, however, certain comments were received
from the Region which require solution. On August 29 I arranged a
meeting with the members of the Region's Public Works and Planning
staff and I believe a solution was found, however, we will require
an amendment of the Durham Official Plan which declared Enniskillen
as a non-growth area. The Regional staff has an Agreement that
certain circumstances changed and an amendment of the Official Plan
is in order. Regarding Burketon Station, the Regional staff made
comments on the extent of annual growth and I have to find time to
discuss this matter and resolve the problem. I will come forward with
the recommendation for approval of both Plans by the Planning Committee
at a later date.
