SUBJECT: Proposed Official Plan Amendment
Part of Lot 24, Con. 9, former Township of Clarke
Waverly Heights Subdivision (Oshawa) Ltd.

On September 24, 1979, staff received from Durham Region, a
revised application for an Official Plan Amendment, in respect of
the above noted lands. The original submission proposed the develop-
ment of a mobile home park for 173 units. The revised submission,
now proposes to develop the site for 26 estate -residential lots.
The original application was the subject of staff report P-78-79
which was presented to Committee on June 11, 1979 and recommended
denial of the mobile home proposal. At that time, the matter was
referred back to staff, at the request of the applicant's solicitor.
On July 5, 1979, Committee considered staff report P-109-79,
which recommended that a public meeting be held in respect of this
application. At that time the applicant's solicitor advised the Committee
that the application for a mobile home park was to be withdrawn. Sub-
sequently, the applicant submitted a revised proposal for estate -residential

development, which is the subject of the report.
COMMENTS:
The revised application, as submitted to the Region, has been
identified as a "Type A" application --- application to amend the
Durham Regional Official Plan. The Region has advertised in appropriate
newspapers in order to solicit public input in respect of the revised
application. In addition, they have circulated the application to
various concerned agencies for comment.
In accordance with the Town's procedures for processing Official
Plan Amendment applications, staff have circulated the application
internally. A further staff report and recommendation will be prepared
upon completion of the circulation.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Planning and Development Committee recommend to Council
that this report be received for information.
