SUBJECT: Bowmanville Commercial Development - The Pythagorus Group
Part of Lot 14, Broken Front Concession
Comments:
We attach copies of correspondence received concerning the
above noted subject matter and a copy of an appointment for hearing
before the Ontario Municipal Board.
Inasmuch as the municipality has just commissioned the
Bowmanville Urban Area Plan and associated commercial study, it would
be premature to hold this hearing until the work is complete especially
since it will have a substantial impact upon the outcome of the hearing.
The correspondence from the solicitors for the Pythagorus
Group indicates that they also wish to defer the hearing until after
the necessary background studies have been completed. This approach
is consistent with the municipality's recent resolution to defer a
decision on the Bowmanville Mall Third Phase and we suggest that it
is in the best interest of all concerned if this hearing be dealt with

Recommendation:
Based on the foregoing, we recommend the following:
1 . "That Planning Staff or the Town Clerk be directed
to request the Ontario Municipal Board to defer the
subject hearing sine die, to be rescheduled at the
mutual request of the municipality and the applicants
affected" and that
2 "The Ontario Municipal Board be further requested to
hear all three Commercial applications, Bowbrook,
Pythagorus and the Bowmanville Mall , at the one hearing"
and that
3. "All concerned parties be notified of the resultant
response to these requests. "
