SUBJECT: Burketon Station - Hamlet Development Plan

Comments:
In accordance with the provisions of the Durham Regional Official
Plan, we submit the Burketon Station Hamlet Development Plan for formal
adoption.
The attached plan has been circulated to all concerned agencies
and was presented for public input on July 27, 1978. Inasmuch as we
have received no major objections to the plan and have considered and
responded to all of the Region's concerns, we recommend that the Plan
be adopted as submitted.
In addition to formally adopting this Plan, it is essential that
Council also adopt a resolution to limit the issuance of building permits
for new buildings, to a maximum of twelve per annum in order to control
the rate of growth within the Hamlet Development Plan Area.
Furthermore, staff, in co-operation with the Planning Staff of the
Region of Durham, shall determine which section(s) of the Darlington Official
Plan require amendment.

Recommendation(s) :
i
Based on the foregoing, we recommend the following: I
1 . That the attached Development Plan for the Hamlet of
Burketon Station be adopted as submitted; and that
2. The number of building permits to be issued within the
limits of the Burketon Station Hamlet Development Plan
be limited to a maximum of twelve (12) per annum; and
that
3. That the Region of Durham be requested to prepare the
necessary amendment to the Official Plan for the former
Township of Darlington.
