SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT PLAN APPROVAL - 18T-78006
NEWCASTLE SHORELINE PROPERTIES LIMITED
PART OF LOT 25, BROKEN FRONT CONCESSION

RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the
following:
1 . That Report PD-183-83 be received; and
2. That Council adopt the following resolution :
The Council of the Town of Newcastle
hereby requests the Minister of Municipal
Affairs and Housing to extend the draft
plan approval for Subdivision 18T-78006
for a further one year period to April
14, 1985" ; and
3. That the request in No. 2 above, be forwarded
-to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and
Housing, and that Mr. D.J. Plitz of Newcastle
Shoreline Properties Ltd. be so advised.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning
and Development Department on November 21 , 1983. The letter
from Mr. D.J. Plitz requests a further one year extension of
draft approval on Subdivision 18T-78006 to April 14, 1985.
In reviewing this request, staff note that the developers
have requested the additional extension to the present
economic conditions and further, due to the fact that the
developer and the Town of Newcastle must re-negotiate the
existing draft subdivision agreement.
Therefore, in consideration of the above, staff would have
no objection to the approval of a further one year extension
in draft plan approval of Subdivision 18T-78006.

Dear Mr. Edwards:
Re: Extension of Draft Plan Approval
18T-78006
One year ago we wrote to you requesting an extension to our
approved draft plan 18T-78006 for a one year period to April
14th, 1984, which was granted and we thank you and the
municipal council for this consideration.
We are again requesting you and your council to grant a further
one year extension on similar grounds as our previous request
until improved economic conditions return. We do fully intend
to proceed with the plan and to meet our obligations to the Town
of Newcastle. In the meantime, we have requested our engineers
D. G. Biddle & Associates Ltd. to update the reconstruction cost
figures, copy enclosed for revision of the subdivision agreement.
We trust this request will receive your favourable consideration
and subsequent approval of council.
