That Report PD-166-83 be received; and 2. That the Minister of Transportation and Communications, the Honourable James Snow, be advised that the Town of Newcastle concurs with and supports the proposed route alignment and station locations, as recommended for approval by the GO/ALRT (Pickering to Oshawa) Technical Advisory Committee at its meeting of October 25 1983; and 3. That the Regional Municipality of Durham be so advised. ...2 REPORT NO. : PD-166-83 Page 2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: On October 25, 1983 the GO/ALRT Technical Advisory Committee met to discuss the final route alignment and station location for the Pickering to Oshawa-Newcastle Townline extension of GO service. * Attached hereto is a copy of said preferred alignment which is being recommended for approval and implementation. It would now be appropriate for Council to forward a resolution expressing the Town 's concurrence and support for the proposed service. Respectfull submitted, 3 T.T. Edwards, M.C.I.P.
