SUBJECT: PROPOSED PLAN OF SUBDIVISION - 18T-83006

RECOMMENDATION:

It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the
following :
i
1 . That Report PD-142-83 be received; and
2. That the recommendations of Staff Report
* PD-121 -83 (copy attached) be approved with the following
amendments :

Paragraph 5 of Attachment 1 to Staff Report PD-121 -83 is
I
hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the
following new Paragraph 5:
i
"5. That Block 60 be included as part of
Lots 40 to 44 inclusive and that a 3.0
metre walkway be provided between Lots 44
and 45."

BACKGROUND:
On September 6, 1983 the General Purpose and Administration
Committee considered Staff Report PD-121-83. As a result of
the Committee's consideration, Resolution ##GPA-704-83, was
passed referring the matter of parkland dedication to the
staff for further investigation and report.
COMMENT:
On September 9, 1983, the Deputy Director of Community
Services and the Director of Planning conducted a visual
inspection of Block 60 proposed plan of subdivision
18T-83006. As a result of this investigation, it was
reaffirmed that due to the terrain of the site and the fact
that the area is predominantly wooded, the site was not
acceptable or necessary for recreational purposes. Staff
are therefore again recommending that Block 60 not be
accepted as park dedication. However, in view of the
applicant 's objection to dedicating the subject Block for
conservation purposes we would recommend that it be included
in Lots 40 to 44 inclusive, and that a 3.0 metre walkway be
provided between lots 44 & 45 to facilitate access to the
adjacent valley lands.
