That Report PD-185-82 be received; and 2. That Council adopt the following resolution : "The Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to extend the draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-76071 for a further one year period to March 22, 1984." 3. That the request in 2. above be forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and that Luverme Investments Limited to so advised. e�s Report No: PD-185-82 October 28, 1982 BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and Development Department on October 19, 1982. The letter from Mr. L. V. Walker, on behalf of Luverme Investments Limited, requests that the draft plan of the above-mentioned plan be extended. In reviewing this request, staff note that the draft plan approval has been extended on several occasions, the last extension given on March 22, 1982 for a further one year period to March 22, 1983. The reason for the extension of draft approval was due to the effects of the economic conditions on the housing market. As indicated in the attached letter, this situation has not improved since the previous extension, given in March of this year. In that regard, the developers do not foresee a change in the forthcoming year, and are requesting an extension of draft approval until March 22, 1984. Staff have no objection to the approval of a further one year extension in draft plan approval of 18T-76071 . Prior to the expiry of draft plan approval in 1984, the plan would again be reviewed.
