SUBJECT: NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING - REZONING
PART OF LOT 34, CONCESSION 9, TOWNSHIP OF HOPE
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-279-86 be received for information; and
2. THAT the Township of Hope be advised that the Town has no objection to the proposed
rezoning.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On October 28, 1986 the Planning Department received a copy of the Public Notice for a
property located in Part Lot 34, Concession 9, in the Township of Hope. The application
is a requirement of a consent approval .
The consent created one (1) retirement lot and the Committee of Adjustment placed a
condition that the site be rezoned to "Rural Residential Exception One (RR-1)" from the
"Rural (Rl)" zone. Staff has reviewed the application and has found that the adjacent
lands in Newcastle are designated as "Permanent Agricultural Reserve" in the Durham Region
Official Plan and the Town of Newcastle's Zoning By-law shows the area as "Agricultural

After review of this application , Staff are of the opinion the proposal is
within the intent of the Official Plan and the Town' s Zoning By-law. We
would, therefore, recommend that the Township of Hope be advised that the
Town has no objection to this application.
