By-Law # MEETING: General Purpose and Administration Committee DATE: Monday, December 15, 1986 REPORT #: PD-291-86 FILE #: 18T-75362, 18T-76011, and 18T-77001 SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT APPROVAL (1) BURKETON HILLS - FILE: 18T-75362 "� ' � PART OF LOTS 18/19, CONCESSION 10, DARLINGTON (2) PENWEST DEVELOPMENT - FILE: 18T-76011 1 (06 /U j PART LOT 9, CONCESSION 1, BOWMANVILLE (3) SCHLEISS AND HOLLAND - FILE: 18T-77001 C J PART LOT 34, CONCESSION 3, DARLINGTON RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report PD-291-86 be received; and 2. THAT Council adopt the following resolutions : (1) "THAT Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs to extend the draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-75362 for a further one (1) year period to January 23, 1988" ; and (2) "THAT Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs to extend the draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-76011 for a further one (1) year period to January 29, 1988" ; and (3) "THAT Council of the Town of Newcastle hereby requests the Minister of Municipal Affairs to extend the draft plan approval for Subdivision 18T-77001 for a further one (1) year period to January 28, 1988" ; and 3. THAT the requests in Recommendation No. 2 above be forwarded -to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and that the respective Owners be so advised. . . .2 REPORT NO. : PO-291-86 Page 2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On November 21, 1986 Staff received copies of the attached letters , addressed to each respective agent/applicant, from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs noting that each draft approval would lapse in January, 1987. Staff would note for the Committee 's information that each respective file is being developed in phases and accordingly, require an extension for that portion which has not been included in present phase development. Accordingly and in consideration of the above, Staff would have no objections to the approval of a further one (1) year extension in draft approval for each Plan of Subdivision as noted within Staff's recommendations. If you are interested in pursuing final approval please send us a request for draft approval extension, with reasons , in advance of the lapsing date, with copies to the municipal and regional planning departments . In order to identify any potential problems I recommend that you also discuss the extension with the municipal planning department. By a copy of this letter we are asking the municipality and the region to advise us of their position on your request. If we dd.:,not hear from them we will assume they have no objection. If there are any concerns with the requested extension we will contact you in advance of the lapsing date. Please remember that once draft approval has lapsed , it cannot be reinstated.
