SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF DRAFT APPROVAL
SUNNY RIDGE CORPORATION (FORMERLY J. ZURBA)
PART LOTS 19 and 20, CONCESSION 7, DARLINGTON

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-108-86 be received; and
2. THAT Council adopt the following resolution:
"THAT the correspondence from the Region of Durham, dated April 10,
1986, be received and the Region of Durham be advised that the
Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has no objections to the extension
to the draft plan of approval of Plan 18T-81023, as revised May 23, 1984,
to July 9, 1987"; and
3. THAT the request in 2 above be forwarded to the Region of Durham Planning
Department and that Mr. A. Goheen, on behalf of Sunny Ridge Corporation be so
advised.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
* A copy of the attached letter was received by the Planning and Development on April
11, 1986. The letter addressed to Staff noted that draft approval with respect to
Plan 18T-81023 as revised will lapse on July 9, 1986 pursuant to the Planning Act
unless an extension is granted prior to the lapsing date . The Region is now

considering to grant such an extension. Accordingly Regional Staff request
confirmation of the status of the Plan of Subdivision as previously
recommended for approval by the Town of Newcastle.
Staff would note for the Committee's information that the applicant has held
several meetings with the Works Department Staff in preparation of the
required drawings and engineering approvals. Furthermore, Staff would note
that it is anticipated that the applicant upon advising Planning Staff, that
the first submission of a draft agreement will be submitted at such time.
In consideration of the above-noted comments, Staff would have no objections
to the extension of draft plan approval for a further one (1 ) year period to
July 9, 1987 with respect to Plan 18T-81023.

Please note that approval issued by the Region with respect to the
above referenced draft plan will lapse on July 9, 1986
pursuant to the Planning Act unless an extension is granted prior
to the lapsing date.
The Region is now considering to grant such an extension. If
there is any reason the extension should not be given, please
advise me immediately. If we do not hear from you within 30 days,
it would be construed that your municipality has no objection to
the extension.
