BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On May 29, 1986, the Town of Newcastle received notice from the Hope Township Committee of
Adjustment of two (2) applications for severance in Hope Township. The applicant, Mr.
Ewert Robinson, has applied to sever a 4.45 hectare (11 acre) parcel from his farm to meld
with an adjacent farm property, and to sever a retirement lot from the balance of his farm
holdings.
The lands subject of the consent applications abut the boundary between Hope Township and
the former Town of Newcastle and are located directly adjacent to Lot 1 in Concession 5
and the north part of Concession 4 in the geographic Township of Clarke. These lands are
designated "Permanent Agriculture Reserve" by the Durham Regional Official Plan and are
zoned "A-1 Agricultural " by By-law 84-63.
